Apple reportedly working on two large screen iPhone models

According to a fresh report from Bloomberg, Apple is working on a duo of large screen iPhone models. Set to be released in the second half of next year, the devices are said to feature displays whose glass “curves downward at the edges”.

The upcoming iPhones are said to have display sizes of 4.7” and 5.5”. The latter in particular will mark an Apple entry into the lucrative phablet market if the report pans out to be true. Currently, Apple’s rival Samsung dominates the aforementioned segment with the Galaxy Note 3.
Furthermore, Apple is said to work on displays with enhanced pressure sensitivity which can distinguish between heavy or light touches. The new tech might not make it in time for next year’s new iPhones, but will be featured into subsequent models.
Normally, we would consider such reports to be a tad too early, as the iPhone 5s is still fresh on the retail shelves. However, considering Bloomberg’s track record, as well as a similar Reuters report from earlier this year, we will surely keep a close eye on this one.

Change the Boot Logo on the Moto X without Root!

Change the Boot Logo on the Moto X without Root! You know that splash screen boot logo that comes up right before your boot animation? Well, that customized logo is simply a bitmap image that is stored in a location where most users will never venture. XDA Elite Recognized Developer jcase located the file responsible, and as it turns out, you don’t even need root access to modify it.
Jcase shared the simple instructions required to backup the default image, “de-customize” the bootloader image, and to flash a new logo. New logos must be in BMP format and be the same size as the original image, which is 720 x 1280.
Please note that to backup the current logo, you do indeed need root access. Flashing a new one, however, is a simple fastboot command that does not require your device to be rooted.
To get started, just head over to the original thread. If you are rooted, you should perform a backup of the boot logo, just in case you ever want it back.

Make Your Lock Screen Transparent with Invisible Lock

Make Your Lock Screen Transparent with Invisible LockPractically every OEM puts its own lock screen onto their devices. There are situations when we simply don’t like the look and have no option to change it. Disabling it altogether is not an option most can consider either.
A very clever solution was presented by XDA Senior Member asdf20, who created an application called Invisible Lock. This app allows you to use a transparent lock screen, so phone looks exactly as if it were unlocked, but all elements are blocked from use. It sounds a bit tricky, but works as intended.
The screen can be unlocked by a gesture, which must be defined in the app’s settings. Currently, the app offers four types of unlocking swipes: from up to down, from down to up, from left to right, and from right to left. Also, it will automatically unlock the screen during incoming calls. The only requirement is to disable the system lock screen, which can be done in Settings > Security.
If your current lock screen is boring, visit the application thread and give Invisible Lock a try!
