LG officially took the wraps off the G Flex smartphone with curved display in Korea. The Android handset will hit all three major carriers in its homeland next month, where it will square off against the Samsung Galaxy Round
Naturally, the main feature of the LG G Flex is its curved display. It is a massive 6” 720p OLED unit whose IMAX cinema-like horizontal curve in landscape mode will allow for an immersive experience when watching videos or playing video games..
Another peculiar talent featured by the device is self-healing film on its back which can deal with minor scratches in a matter of minutes. LG compares the trick to the self-healing ability of the Wolverine character from the X-Men.
The LG G Flex is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2.26GHz quad-core CPU. The rest of the specs include 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in memory, microSD card slot, and 13MP camera. The smartphone packs full connectivity suite, including compatibility with the speedy LTE-A networks in Korea. It will boot Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean dressed in LG’s proprietary UI.
The measures of the LG G Flex are 160.5 x 81.6 x 7.9/8.7mm (the thickness of the phone depends on the point of its curve), while its weight tips the scale at 177 grams. The handset is powered by a 3,500mAh battery which was recently under the spotlight in its own right.

Samsung Note 3′s camera app ported to Galaxy S4

The new camera app Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Note 3 has its fair share of nifty features, and now you can enjoy them on the Galaxy S4 as well.
Galaxy S4 owners who want the latest and greatest from Samsung’s camera department can get just that, thanks to the folks over at xda-developers.
The most notable addition is that of Samsung’s own 360-degree panorama mode dubbed Surround Shot, which allows you to stitch together several shots to form your own photo sphere. Here is a video of it in action on a Galaxy S4

The port requires your Galaxy S4 to be running Samsung’s TouchWiz-enabled Android 4.3 build – you won’t be able to get this to work on any AOSP-derived ROM. If you meet those requirements, all you have to do then is flash the zip file through a custom Recovery. Head over to the thread here for full instructions.
Although porting the app over to the S4 won’t get you the same performance, the Note 3′s camera made a good impression on us in our six-way camera shootout test, especially when it came to video recording. Samsung sets a new Guinness record

Samsung has scored yet another Guinness record, creating the world’s largest photobook.
The previous record for the largest photobook involved 10,000 images, but the global market leaders managed to better it with 28,000 stills.
After the launch of the Galaxy S4 Zoom in Germany, Samsung began a Facebook campaign where the everyone was encouraged to submit up to 10 photos. In a promotional campaign that lasted for 10 days, Sammy managed to attract 36,000 images out of which 28,000 were chosen to be printed in a 5m x 8m, 16 page album.

Samsung details Premium Suite updates for the US

Today Samsung US detailed the availability of the so-called Premium Suite updates for its former flagships. It will bring Android 4.3, Galaxy Gear smartwatch support, better Easy mode and Multi Windows multi-tasking plus new camera features and KNOX support.
The first devices to get this update are Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III. The update will become available in the next few weeks, though specific availability will vary depending on carrier and devices.
The update will also be hitting the Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Mega 6.3, though the time frame for that is the coming months, rather than weeks.
There is no info on the Galaxy S4 Active though. We guess its update should arrive soon after the Galaxy S4 new firmware rolls out.
There are already leaked official Android 4.3 firmwares for the AT&T's Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S4 Active, so those Premium Suites should really be just around the corner
